Öko-Tex 100

The Öko-Tex® 100 standard was developed at the beginning of the 1990s as a reaction to the need among consumers and the general public for textiles which pose no health risk.

Until the introduction of the Öko-Tex® 100 standard, consumers had neither a reliable product label allowing them to assess the human ecological quality of textiles, nor was there a uniform safety standard for companies in the textile and clothing industry which allowed a practice-relevant assessment of possible harmful
substances in textile products.
